Scallops, Spinach and Mushrooms
Our daughter Jade is crazy for sea scallops. Whenever we’re in a restaurant she immediately turns to the seafood section in the menu, hoping for scallops. I decided to make some for her back-to-school lunch today since my husband has … Continue reading

Soba Noodles with Veal and Scallops
I really couldn’t decide what I wanted to do today but I knew it would have to involve veal and scallops, as they were in the freezer. Aside: It’s so boring just cooking out of the freezer, but one … Continue reading

Seafood Ramekin
We had a few people over for lunch today in spite of the plastic current hanging from the ceiling to shield the rest of the house from the dust created by the fireplace remover. Ambiance for days! Paper napkins. The menu was … Continue reading
Sea Scallops with Saffron Potatoes
I had to move my photography table today and have never been so upset in my life! The light is different upstairs and I really don’t know how to deal with it. Whine. I had built up so … Continue reading

Coquilles St. Jacques
A visit to the fishmonger this morning had us salivating and wanting everything. It’s so nice that a least one person in the family shares my love of fish and it’s relatives. The fish market’s owner is such a nice … Continue reading

Eating Around: L’Assiette
Jade and I have decided to eat around, since we saw the paper place mat at the Broceliande restaurant http://atomic-temporary-17826715.wpcomstaging.com/2011/08/16/broceliande-restaurant/ that listed all the bars and restaurants in town that were hosting music during the town’s August music festival. We thought this … Continue reading

Scallop Stuffed Leek and Salmon Roll
This is another interesting creation from the traiteur. He wrapped fresh salmon and leeks around a stuffing made of scallops. I baked this for 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven Added a salad and voila! Wine suggestion: Chablis
Shrimp and Scallop Stuffed Artichokes
I grew up in California and have always loved fresh steamed artichokes with melted butter. Though artichoke hearts in oil are fine, especially Italian; but there is nothing like stripping those plump leaves, dipped in butter, of their rich greenness … Continue reading

Le Creuset Seafood Mini Casseroles
Jade and I like fish and seafood. That also must be true of the Sens market adherents; there are 3 separate, large fish stalls in the market! M. Parret also informs me that a fish supermarket will be opening up … Continue reading
