Roasted Asian Lamb Shanks with Sweet Potatoes
I had 3 Welsh lamb shanks in the freezer and took my inspiration from this wonderful recipe at BBC’s Good Food http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/67613/vietnamese-lamb-shanks-with-sweet-potatoes. I chose to roast this in one of my tajines with cover and adjusted a few of the ingredients … Continue reading

Spanish Chorizo Omelette with Irregular Mushrooms
Mexican chorizo has been on my mind lately and I was wishing for some when I saw this great recipe for home made Mexican chorizo from Case of the Munchies http://caseofthemunchies.wordpress.com/2013/01/29/chorizo-tacosenchiladas/ Still, you have to “love the one you’re with”, … Continue reading

Salmon Sunday
This morning at 6 o’clock my husband took off to the States for a week and Jade went back to school at 5 this afternoon. Me and the kitties, home alone. Still, I made a nice lunch for Jade of … Continue reading

Lamb Chops with Herbs and Balsamic Sauce
These are French lamb chops that I found in my freezer in Sens over the holidays. Yay! Quick and easy, just sprinkle with dried herbs, brown, make a balsamic reduction and serve with bacon, sauteed chard. Lamb Chops with Herbs … Continue reading

Spinach, Bacon, Mushroom and Brie Omelette.
I know that I made a salad yesterday http://cookinginsens.com/2013/01/22/spinach-bacon-egg-and-mushroom-salad/ with almost the same ingredients, but I have a lot of spinach, mushrooms and, honestly, a lot of vegetables that I bought greedily at the farmers’ market on Saturday. Mad Dog at http://maddogtvdinners.wordpress.com/ inadvertently gave … Continue reading

Spinach, Bacon, Egg and Mushroom Salad
I woke up this morning craving spinach salad. I haven’t had that for a long time and I just love it when I think of something I’d like to eat and all the ingredients are in the fridge. It’s serendipic … Continue reading

Ocean Fish with Chard and Leeks
The good news is that I found a fishmonger, a butcher and the open market in the historic town center of Waiblingen, about 5 minutes from our house. The bad news is that I haven’t yet learned to copy down … Continue reading

Balsamic Gansebrust with Courgettes
I went over to Kaufland supermarket on Saturday specifically to buy some of those cute goose legs http://cookinginsens.com/2012/11/07/roasted-goose-sandwich-with-bottom-of-the-pan-relish/. They were all gone! In their place was a bin full of frozen goose breasts or gansebrusts. Why not? I hadn’t used my … Continue reading

The Christmas Market Nougat 2010
Cleaning out my draft posts, I found this unpublished post, drafted in 2010. I loved watching this very friendly man in the market cutting an enormous nougat. You definitely needed muscle for this job.
