As usual, when trying to avoid household responsibilities, Jade and I head for the market. The grill care specialist was here this morning and we thought she would never leave! Once she did, we grabbed the shopping basket and flew out of the door. We visited the market, the fishmonger, had two coffees, one hot chocolate and an Orangina before reluctantly returning to the house. We would have stayed lounging at the cafe longer but we were starting to look like SDFs.
We found some nice yellow courgettes and kohlrabi or chou rave. Bandit was so excited!
Before we knew it, it was past lunchtime. I had to rush home and make a quick lunch of kidneys, escargots style. Fab!
Lamb Kidneys with Garlic and Parsley
6 lamb kidneys, cleaned and sliced in half vertically
2 tbsp butter
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
1 handful of fresh parsley, chopped
Saute the kidneys in the butter, 2 minutes per side, then remove from the pan and set aside. Add the garlic to the pan and saute until soft, then add the parsley and kidneys. Cook stirring for 1 minute and serve with sliced country bread or baguette.

How delicious – SDF indeed 😉
Thank you Mad. We can’t decide if we like veal or lamb kidneys best. It seems to depend on what we’re eating at the time 🙂
That’s a very tough choice 🙂
Verily.
Yum – I love rognons… definitely a nice budget friendly recipe to try!
Quick and easy too!
Very delicious, but it wouldn’t get past Jenny’s Customs post:)
You could always have them out when restauranting with students. But not at the steak tartare place 🙁
looks delicious!
Thanks Jon.
Lovely, Rosemary :D. I adore yellow courgettes, they are so gorgeous.
Hater 😀
Looks delicious!
Thank you Tessa.
There’s a grill care specialist occupation? Fascinating.
It’s actually included in a subsection of the oven care specialist job description, under “additional responsibilities”.
Did you return to the house when nature called? Sorry, just laughing because that’s a lot of drinks. Where are my manners? This looks great as always.
