So simple yet so elegant! Summer time food with a rainy day overtone. I don’t know what I’m saying.
Anyway, this was good. Recipe for the ribbon salad is here http://atomic-temporary-17826715.wpcomstaging.com/2011/12/06/yakitori-duck-breast-with-asian-zucchini-ribbon-salad/. Nap time!
Steamed Ginger Chicken
4 chicken thighs
Fresh ginger, sliced
Spring onions, sliced
4 tbsp mirin
4 tbsp tamari soy sauce
Put the chicken thighs in a heat proof shallow bowl. Top with the ginger and spring onion slices. Mix the mirin and soy sauce together and pour over chicken. Put the bowl inside a steamer basket and steam for 15 minutes, covered. Baste with the soy sauce mixture and steam for an additional 10 minutes.
Wine suggestion: Petit Chablis
Sounds like a really good recipe. Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you cht7.
Looks really delicious, and super healthy too! Inspiring stuff!
Thank you health style
What a summery combo, and one I wouldn’t have thought of. Very nice!
Thank you Greg.
It would be rainy day food with a summer time overtone here – sounds lovely 😉
Thanks Mad. I like your phrase better 🙂
I did not rain in Dublin today. That is some sort of record. Lovely dish.
Best,
Conor
Thanks Conor. Interesting about the weather in Dublin. I remember being there one year in, I think it was May, and it snowed.
In two weeks we will be in the Languedoc. I will feel beter then…
Of course you will!
Too funny… I got what you were trying to say though:) Lovely dishes for summer!
Thank you Smidge
Never thimk of steaming chicken – what a lovely recipe!
I know. Steamed chicken doesn’t really sound that appetizing but is such a delicacy with the right sauce and seasoning.
hey, is there alternative for mirin? Can I substitute mirin with something which is no alcohol?
