Still “lagged” but have to do something with myself, and I found a new plate at the supermarket. Anyway this was easy; shrimp were in the freezer.
Spicy Wild Sesame Seed Shrimp
1 tbsp sunflower oil
1 tbsp sesame seed oil
2 large garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
1/2 tsp five spice powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 spring onion, halved a thinly sliced
2 tsp toasted wild sesame seeds
1/2 scotch bonnet, seeded and thinly sliced
Mix the oils, garlic, five spice, salt and pepper together, then pour over the shrimp, mix well and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
Preheat a stove top grill on medium high and then grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side. Sprinkle with the onion, sesame seeds and scotch bonnet. Pass out the chopsticks and enjoy with big beers.
Looks delicious! Pretty plate too!
Couldn’t resist that plate and the price was right 🙂
This dish health factor boost up with all the healthy ingredients with spicyness. Great !!
Sears the fat right off 🙂
So fresh and perfect for summer. I have to check out these wild sesame seeds since I have never heard of them!!
I guess I started using them when I was crazy for Japanese food, still am but now I will use the seeds in anyway I fancy.
I think French needs to be the lingua franca of food. Crevettes clears up the confusion between shrimp and prawns. Whatever they’re called they sound good:)
Prawns are larger than shrimp and can be barbecued without falling through the grill 🙂
