It’s a Wagamama-like Day! Sesame noodles with grilled fish. So satisfying.
Sesame Noodles with Grilled Cod
2 tbsp tamari soy sauce
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp peanut oil
1 tsp sesame seed oil
1 lb cod, cut into 4 servings
Mix the soy sauce, lemon juice, peanut oil and sesame oil together and pour over the cod. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
6 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp peanut oil
3 tbsp tahini or peanut butter
1 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp rice vinegar
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 inch fresh ginger, chopped
1 lb Kishimen Japanese noodles, cooked, washed, drained and chilled
Scallions
Blend the soy sauce, sesame oil, peanut oil, peanut butter, sugar, vinegar, garlic and ginger together. Toss with the noodles. Divide among 4 bowls.
Grill the fish and place a piece on top of the noodles. Sprinkle with scallions.
I love cod! This looks so good!
Thank you Lauren. Always nice cod at the fishmonger’s.
The grilled fish looks fantastic. Is that griddled or grilled? Very good recipe idea.
Thank you Roger. Grilled.
I just love your recipes and photos. This a great example. A simple recipe with great flavor combinations. And as someone who has been through culinary school and worked as a chef, I don’t say that about too many blogs. Nice work.
Thank you. So nice of you!
This looks great, as always!
Thank you Stewart.
Gorgeous!
Thank you.
Another cracker.
Best,
Conor
Thanks Conor
Looks great! How long do you grill the cod, and do you use a fish basket?
Thank you Mixer. After generously spraying with Pam, I cooked directly on the grill, about 6-8minutes.
Thanks! I tend to have trouble with fish sticking to the grill. Guess I should be more generous. 😉
Fish ripping away from the grill is one of my nightmares. After all the Pam I put on, the fish practically slides from the grill 🙂
Gosh that looks wonderful! It is exactly what I want to eat right now. Adding it to my list of must-try Asian dishes . . .
Thank you Daisy. The tedious Part is washing and rinsing the noodles Japanese style. It seems to take forever! But they are so worth it!
Sounds like you need some Wagamama minions 😉
Yeah, Jade was not at all interested in learning to wash noodles Japanese style. In fact, she questioned the sanity of the Japanese 🙂
Haha! Sounds intense 🙂
Looks simply delicious!
Thank you Tessa.
Amazing yum!
Thank you unwind.
You have created a perfect ‘storm’ for me – noodles and fish. I need this NOW !
Thank you Claire. Maybe you can make it tomorrow; the noodle washing takes time 😉
Looks great!
Thanks Jon.
That looks a lot better than Wagyourmama 😉
I like Wagamama both in London and Dublin 🙂
I’ve had badly prepared food in Wagamama London – stuck together and then burnt noodles. I’m not going back.
Bleah! And you shouldn’t. One of the reasons that I liked Wagamama was because the food looked great.
I think it stared out well, but it’s a big chain now and chains don’t always have their eyes on the ball. On the bright side, there are similar and better individual restaurants in China Town, with good prices and no queues 😉
I’ve got the cookbook, it’s okay 🙂

I am allergic to cod but its my favourite fish, even though I react badly to it, I still eat them specially if its as good as that recipe above. I just have my antihistamine on my side
You could make this recipe with any firm, white fish.
Sounds delicious! And luckily I already have ALL the ingredients at home!!
Then Bon appetit!
Thank you for the wonderful grilled fish idea!
You are welcome Amy.
Ahhh YUM! I love cold sesame noodles for the summer time! This looks so good and I love grilled fish!
I hope you’ll try the recipe Kat.
