Each year, in many parts of France, neighbors get together for a Fete de Voisins to celebrate food, drink, the gorgeous weather and friendship, that is, if you are lucky enough to live in a friendly neighborhood. Otherwise, no party 🙂 The city blocks off the street and everyone brings something; savories, desserts and wine. This year my favorite French person, M. Parret, donated a generous amount of wine and cheese.
All of my favorite people were there.

This little girl desperately wanted her picture taken. I made her wait until after I took pictures of the food 🙂
Interesting and lively discussions.
We are lucky to have a family of musicians in the neighborhood. Good blues! I can’t wait until next year. I’ll come over from Germany!
It looks like you live in a nice, friendly neighborhood 🙂
La bonne ambiance transparaît dans vos belles photos, je trouve!
Thank you Carine.
Looks like great fun!
It was Spoon. Very nice neighbors.
How fun. I love France. Had the best time in Paris.
I love Paris! Glad you had a good time there.
They’ve really put themselves out with the food – it all looks excellent 😉
There were at least 2 whole roasted chickens 🙂
Great street shots! So expressive.
Thank you Greg.
Looks like an amazing time! Those are great shots of M. Parret and his wife.
I am glad you took pictures of food before taking pictures of that girl Priorities are important 🙂
She was pretty insistent until I told her that she was blocking my food shot and that I wasn’t happy 🙂 She then stood to the side and waited. Then, in a fit of old lady vindictiveness, I made her pose with the dough ball 🙂 SMH
Good for you! I don’t think it’s vindictive at all. It doesn’t sound like the lesson is going to stick with that one, though. At least you got your food shots!
Probably won’t stick with the little mademoiselle, but we are a small community and I’ll bet she won’t “fuss” with me again. Lol.
Nope. I certainly wouldn’t get between you and your food shots again!
😉
Cela m’amuse que la gamine regarde trop chou. 🙂 I didn’t know that the frenchs are making this kind of BBQ party but it looks very funny! Monsieur Parret looks like such a twee and likeable man! 🙂 C’est super! In which parts of France are they doing this Fête de Voisins? C’est toujours ça de gagné… here they aren’t doing such hospitable activities. 🙁 Oh, germans, we are a bit dreary sometimes! … but Christmas is still wonderful here. Can’t wait!
Cheerio! 🙂
Thank you. They have the fetes all over France.
Wow! Learning every day more about my beloved France. Interesting!
I want to go!
I know! So much fun.
What a fun time! And both the company and the food and drink look delightful!
We’re still talking about it!
Fantastic pictures. What a lovely community you live in. M. Parret looks completely adorable! And you mentioned Germany? Are you leaving France?
Thank you Karista. No, I’m not leaving France. I’m just going over to Germany to hang out with my husband until he retires in a year or two. I’ve located a French boarding school near the German boarder for our daughter, Jade and she will come to Germany on weekends. Holidays will be spent here in France.
Sounds like a lovely adventure. Looking forward to some German inspired dishes too. 🙂
Good Blues and Good food sounds fantastic!
It was indeed!
