Japan Centre, a Japanese supply on line store, sent me an e-mail last night with this recipe. I didn’t intend to post today but I like spinach and the recipe was interesting, so I decided to just make the spinach, post it and be done.
Of course, I couldn’t stop myself. I looked in the refrigerator, saw leftovers and thought, bento box.
I only made one with the Japanese spinach salad, rice, griot with ti malice, steak with pear and tomato chutney and a star shaped hardboiled egg.
Goma-ae Sesame and Spinach Salad
1 lb fresh spinach, boiled for 2 minutes and drained
4 tbsp sesame seeds, ground
2 tbsp mirin
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
Mix all ingredients together. Sprinkle with whole sesame seeds before serving.
