There is this awesome website called Historical Foods, http://historicalfoods.com, with recipes that go back to the Dark Ages and through to modern times. I like “back in the day” original recipes that think nothing of requiring you to cook all day long. Really. As long as the taste is worth it and in this case, it is.
In all modesty(not), I’ve had these in England and mine were better. Must have been the French pastry 🙂
